The Client: One of the largest global issuers of European Medium Term Notes (EMTNs) experienced first hand the flexible modeling platform offered by QuIC’s Pricing and Valuation Solution.

The Challenge: The goal of our client was clear. They wanted to expand their offering of structured products, specifically in the EMTN market. To do this, they required a risk management and regulatory reporting solution that met their needs. The problem was that their current infrastructure simply could not provide the flexible modeling environment they required.

When we were first introduced to the client, they had already met with our key competitors and were evaluating the benefits they offered. Unfortunately for the client, their competitive analysis showed that the majority of systems did not meet their requirements. Fortunately, QuIC was different.

In fact, we were able to demonstrate a solution superior. What’s more, this solution was able to deliver on the client’s exact requirements. Once our client made their choice, the QuIC team moved fast.

The Solution: “In less than six weeks from our original meeting with them, we already had a working prototype,” said Nigel Cairns, President and CEO of QuIC. “This prototype linked various components of a trade, such as defining coupons and call dates, and allowed structures to represent a trade’s payout in a user-friendly environment.

The success of this prototype convinced our client that we were able to reconstruct and run their entire test portfolio. On top of this, we demonstrated our ability to handle more financial instruments than any competitor’s solution, in a fraction of the time.

Things moved quickly from there. We were awarded the contract to implement QuIC’s Pricing and Valuation Solution. After a short period of consultation, collaboration and testing, the solution was implemented and full regulatory approval was received within months of deployment.
